Is there any hope for a Sansa mp3 player that has umed the blue ring of death?

This is concerning an e270 model. Just out of the blue (no pun intended) the thing just totally died. I push the power on, the blue ring lights up, and the Sandisk logo comes up on the screen, but then the screen just goes blank, like illuminated black. And yes I've tried doing a reboot by holding in the power on for 20 seconds. That shuts it off but the problem remains. I even took the battery out and reinstalled it. No difference. Also, in the state it's in my pc doesn't recognize it at all. Any body got any miracles up their sleeves? I'd appreciate any advice. This is...WAS a really nice player. Thanks.
