Hematology/oncology question?

due to a long line of hereditary blood clotting in my family, my doctor has suggested I visit a hematologist to run some tests. I see there is a hematologist that practices in my town but it says he also specializies in oncology...I know whatever I have is definitely not cancerous. does this type of doctor only treat cancers that involve blood?
